Hero Image

Vermillion is prioritizing safe travel and when you’re ready to travel, we’re ready for you.

Vermillion offers a small-town feel with big-time activities. Home to an endless number of unique offerings that you can’t find anywhere else. Nestled along the banks of the Missouri River, Vermillion delivers no shortage of arts, culture, history, and heritage to explore. Visitors are sure to discover many reasons to #LOVermillion.

The Vermillion community has implemented hygiene, health, and safety protocols to keep you and your families safe while you are here. South Dakota and Vermillion do not have any travel restrictions in place, however, our City strongly encourages mask-wearing when indoors or in larger social gatherings. If you have any questions or concerns about your trip, we encourage you to contact us before your arrival.

Travel Restrictions and Road Closures

If you’re on a road trip and Vermillion is only one of your stops, be sure to check out road closures across the state of South Dakota.

Some trip routes through tribal lands may be closed and alternatives needed. Check SafeTravelUsa.com/SD or call 5-1-1 for up-to-date road information. Access maps to view documented tribal checkpoints and visitor information by clicking below.
