Oyate Trail

The Oyate Trail is 388 miles across Highways 50 and 18 through southeastern South Dakota. It starts in Vermillion, and as you head west on your adventure, you can stop at various small towns with cultural and historical sites.

Loess Hills National Scenic Byway

The Loess Hills National Scenic Byway features a 220-mile paved route through Iowa's western border that takes you just 30 miles northeast of Vermillion in Akron, Iowa. Head seven miles to Vermillion on Highway 50 for a pit stop.
